What is Earth.dev?

Earth.dev is a hub for natural building, permaculture, and sustainable living. It is a community center and coordination tool for multi-party communication and collaboration. Our primary success measurement is how many new relationships we can instigate that foster positive real-world outcomes.

Who operates Earth.dev?

Earth.dev was created and is currently operated by Authentic Creative – a venture studio founded by Nate Siggard and product directed by Sasha Rabin (EarthenShelter.com).

The 12 month plan Earth.dev:

  • 1. Build the website to be fully ooperational and useful for the community
  • 2. Establish a board of directors who operate earth.dev and define moderation and editorial policies.
  • 3. Raise $50,000 to create a non-profit to operate Earth.dev
  • 4. Build a mobile app for Earth.dev
  • 5. Establish an Earth.dev educational center and training facility, producing open source educational resources and hands-on opportunities for learning.

What is a Expert?

An expert is someone who is involved in designing, building, developing, constructing, or stewarding the Earth. Experts can be any age or experience. Professional experts with extensive community experience can be easily identified using Expert Recommendations on Earth.dev.

What are expert recommendations?

Experts can recommend each other on Earth.dev like you might see on Yelp or Linkedin. These recommendations provide trust and credibility to the Earth.dev community.

What are Projects?

*Projects are not available yet on the site*. Projects are any land based, long-term development that has many experts involved. A Project leader can create a Project and then invite their team to join the Project.

What are Workshops?

Workshops are events that happen in a single session over one or many days, but which a single invitation or registration may be made. Workshops are a great way to learn new skills, meet new people, and build projects together. Project members can create Workshops.

What are Requests?

*Requests are not available yet on the site*. You can post a request for proposals, sharing your plan, assets, resources, and budget and then invite experts to respond to your request. Job board meets classifieds.

What happens with my data?

Earth.dev data is located on AWS servers in Oregon. Your data is not sold or shared with third parties, except for tools like google analytics so we can improve the site. We do not sell your data to advertisers. You can see the full Privacy Policy here.
