Earth Rise Design Build

Earth Rise is a collaborative practice between Vanessa Baskin and Skye Ruozzi. Informed by their personal practices in architecture, sculpture, and regenerative agriculture, Earth Rise is dedicated to creating spaces that embody care, presence, and ecological awareness. Through participatory bioconstruction, we work with raw, locally sourced materials—clay, stone, sand, and plant fibers—to create structures that are in dialogue with the land. Our workshops invite individuals and organizations to engage with traditional building methods, fostering group collaboration and deepening relationships with natural materials.

Guided by the interplay between void and form, our practice transforms excavation from an extractive act into one of care. We shape sculptural spaces that hold memory and resonance, designed not just for shelter but for reflection, gathering, and renewal. Drawing from ancestral techniques and contemporary ecological discourse, Earth Rise reimagines how we build—centering sustainability, ecological resilience, and the communal act of creation. Our work is both tactile and conceptual, an offering to the land and a testament to the power of collective making.
